Olson's deed was followed by his own suicide. The man cut the woman's throat with a knife with which he then severed his own jugular. Olson, who was a laborer, had been out of work for some time, and owed Mrs. Otis Olson for board and borrowed money. Mrs. Olson, the victim, was once a resident of Colfax, Dunn county. That happened, he was a frequent visitor to the home and he fell in love with Maria. Her parents panicked, their daughter marrying a CANADIAN?
