Notes - I kirkeboka for Grace Lutheran Church, Larsen, Wisconsin, hvor John Johnson døpte borna sine. Står det: "There arrived the first Norwegians to the Neenah settlement as it was then called in the autumn of 1846. They came from Muskego in Racine county, Wisconsin. Their visit here at that time was only temporary, as when they had located the land they were satisfied with, left again but returned the followin year to locate permanently. Among those may be named were Soren Wilson, Anders Thompson and John Rue. There may have been more in this party, but it is not certain. Reports thereof are so conflicted.
The following year (1847) about May 20th was marked by the arrival of three brothers, Christian, Peter and John Johnson (Ødegaarden), Paul Hansen and aslo Soren Wilson whom then returned. Also same yeare there arrived Svend Torgersen, Jorgen Olson Landsverk, John Bjørndalen, Ole Uvaas, John Amundson and others.
