Newton Press, Aug. 7, 1889: Catt, John: Uncle John Catt of Willow HIll township, died very suddenly last evening, after an illness of but a few hours. He was one of the oldest citizens of Jasper county, his father settling here in 1827.

John giftet seg med Nancy Casey, datter av Thomas A. Casey og Malinda Ferguson, i 1884 i Illinois, USA. (Nancy Casey ble født i 1843 i Monroe County, Indiana, USA og døde den 18 mar 1899 i Saline County, Illinois.)
