Janike Baltsersdtr. Humborstad

Janike Balsersdotter Humborstad f. 21.sep 1861 i Nordfjord, Nordre Bergenhus. Døde 1. juli 1939 i Davik, Nordfjord, Sogn og Fjordane. Fra Humborstad til Bergen 0.5.1889. She lived in Bergen for some time. Met Mons, who was a "bøkker" and settled at Haugland under Berstad in Kjølsdalen.

1897: She moved to North Dakota with her children and possibly her sisters, brother and their spouses and children. While in the United States, Janika married Anders Stordahl.

1904: Return to Norway. "The undersigned will sell at Public Auction at the Kjorlie farm 5 miles east of Finley, N. D., on Friday, March 4, '10....Andrew Stordahl, Albert Hougland. Prop's...."

Bought a small piece of good farmland, which supported a couple of cows, chickens etc. but probably no income. Janike and Albert H. must have brought a considerable amount of money back from USA. She built a new house, barn and other buildings, lived there for a number of years, travelled in Norway, Canada, etc.

1933/34: Janika came to Canada, where her husband, son and grandchildren lived. She didn't like it.

1935: Returned to Norway. She died during WWII. She lived with Anna for a few years.

Janike married Mons Abrahams. Søreide, son of Abraham Mons. Hjellestad and Helvig Johannesdtr. Haugland, on 22 Nov 1889 in Sund. (Mons Abrahams. Søreide was born on 6 Jul 1864 in Haugland, Austevoll, christened on 17 Sep 1864 in Austevoll and died on 9 Dec 1901 in Haugland under Berstad, Kjølsdalen.)

Janike next married Anders Ols. Stordalen, son of Ole Mons. Skålevik and Ragnhilde Larsdtr. Stordalen, in 1903 in Finley, ND, USA. (Anders Ols. Stordalen was born on 12 Aug 1871 in Stordalen, Stora Sangolt, Sund, christened on 7 Sep 1871 in Sund ¹ and died in Humborstad, Eid, Nordfjord ².)
