Immigrant from England; moved to Barbados 1643-1650 and to Virginia prior to 1660.; He was a friend and neighbor of Nathaniel Bacon A tradition among the Goodes and Prides of Amelia Co. has it that John Goode and his wife were a runaway couple from England (John) and from Scotland (Martha Mackerness?) and that they were heirs to a large estate in the old country.
