General Notes:

His early home was near Giant's Causeway in Antrim.
In the USA the family were first living in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and moved to Wells county, Indiana in 1853 as early pioneers in the county. They helped to develop from a swampy wilderness to an agricultural district.

James married Rachel Dinsmore, daughter of Samuel Dinsmore and Mary Brewster, on 21 Aug 1837 in Ballymoney Presbyterian Church. (Rachel Dinsmore was born in 1806 in Ballywattick, County Antrim, Ireland and died in 1844 in Wayne Co., OH.)
