Carrie remarried when Lars died to Johan 'John' Erickson (1842-1894) in 1871.


Knute married Ella Thompson, daughter of Folkvard Torjusson Dalen and Guri Andersdtr. Eide, on 24 Mar 1889 in Sioux Falls, Lincoln, SD. (Ella Thompson was born on 30 Jul 1861 in Dane, Wisconsin and died on 10 Feb 1951 in Tyler, Lincoln, Minnesota.)
